Prevent DirectoryIndexing

How can I prevent the directoryindex in the .htaccess. I tried using DirectoryIndex disabledbut still gives me an error on the apache logs. I want to prevent the error from appearing on the apache logs.

Error Message:

[autoindex:error] [pid 7012:tid 1896] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.x:xxxxx] AH01276: Cannot serve directory C:/xampp/htdocs/modules/: No matching DirectoryIndex () found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive
