How to determine where to display an image in a gallery using php?

l have a page which contains five images in a row and four rows in the entire page.l have a script that inserts form data into database(e.g name, image name, office,description e.t.c) and image into a folder.how do l write a script that displays the last uploaded image in the right position i.e first, sixth or tenth image is updated.
