Text area or equivalent as a selector in a webpage to display in text area and delete from the database

I'm just wondering is there any way i could turn a textarea into a list of items that is in my database as such user are able to select the item from there? Something like JTextArea in Java.

my idea is:

this is a text area displaying all the content that is available in the database

next i would like to select one of the image e.g image_002.jpg

after selected it will select the item and then remove from the database.
