Realtime API for editing and saving documents (.docx) in cloud

I need an API for my website to edit the .docx files stored in my cloud(Azure). I would like to have something like Google Docs that offers collaborative editing. I went through the documentation of Realtime API , but I am only able to edit collaborative strings. How do I expand the same for .docx files with rich text editing? Suggestions, please.
