How to make a webpage with two listviews and an text box?

I am trying to make a webpage that looks close to an iMessage view as I am trying to make a chat app. However, I have no idea where to start on this as I am more android/java/c++ and never dealt with web development.

The lists, one holding threads and the other messages, are in two separate views that are made from a json objects passed in from a get_thread.php adn get_messages.php I wrote.

I need to know if this is doable and where to start, as like I stated, I do not know anything about web development besides the basic html markups.
