We have a web application which is fairly complex(UI has too many fields). I agree that better UX design would reduce the need help, we are currently not in a position to afford UI redesign.
We want to incorporate context sensitive help in our web app, are there any suggestion of FOSS category?
We are looking at below options :
-
get a chm compiler, create a standard good old chm file and link it to web pages(I know chms are too old but they work!)
-
Use Oracle Help Framework, but this lacks a good help authoring mechanism which in our case is essential.
- we already use Atlassian Confluence for a lot documentation, we can use the same and get help content using REST api and display the same in some "div" or "popup"
Are there better ways to display context sensitive helps for web applications?
Happy Helping!
