Switching an app from Rails to PHP [on hold]

I have a relatively small Ruby On Rails web site that is currently down due to some problems connecting the db and the rails files. As I don’t know how to fix this, I have thought of maybe switching to PHP. Does anyone have any experience with doing this? How can this be done most efficiently for someone without much experience with PHP?
