WS-Coordination consist of coordination protocols. What are these coordination protocols?

I already know the purpose of WS-Coordination and also that Coordinator consist of different services Activiation Service, Registration Service. What I am getting hard time understanding is what is meant by coordination protocols here ? What are these protocols are these are the attributes being used during coordination like mustUnderstand attribute used in SOAP header ? Please provide me a comprehensible answer.
