Tomcat Virtual Hosting and session cookies

Just wanted to pick some brains as I'm stumped - hopefully this is a really simple answer.

First - my setup: I have two domains webapp1.mydomain.net and webapp2.mydomain.net - both of these go through a netscaler device and are load balanced to a server farm consisting of two web servers.

webapp1/2 ---> netscaler --> webserver 01/02.

My netscaler is matching the following cookie issued by my web servers "STICKY-COOKIE" for sticking a session to the backend web servers

For webapp1 I can see the cookie being issued properly in my browser tools. For webapp2 I cannot see the cookie being issued by tomcat.

This cookie is set in the context.xml on both web servers for tomcat. Any ideas where I can check. For reference

webapp1 is configured in server.xml as being served up at appBase="webapp1" and webapp2 is configured in server.xml as coming from appBase="webapp2"
