ion-scroll for large image? any better solution?

I am new to ionic and now working on a small ionic project where I need a way to display a large image. It is a map that users can pan it to view the map. and there will be some buttons on it.

I tried to use ion-scroll and ion-img. It seems to be not very smooth. Is it a good solution? I also think of using canvas, is it possible and a good idea? I know it is much harder to be implemented.
