WebApi save dynamic persistent application state

I have a webApi that acts as a back-end,
it sometimes needs to store some information about its state. (e.g. LastUpdateTimeStamp, ServerLoad)
This information should persist between server restarts and be session agnostic.

For now, i created a Table in my DB AppState: Key, Value, and i Seed Each setting Key by Enum, but I Feel i ain't going the best way.

What is the Common/Best practice to store information the server needs, and need to change it across sessions, and be persistent.
