Add retrieved value from mysql database to html list

I am trying to add elements from database to list (listbox?) visible on the html side of my java web application. I know how exactly retrieve specific information from any row and column of my mysql database, but I don't have any idea how to add this elements, for example strings, to be visible under html side.

I want to create functionality to retrieve files assigned to user. How can i do that in JAVA?
