Can a website see programs and processes you're running on your computer?

I have an online exam done through my university's web-app. I understand that they track some of my data to supposedly catch cheaters during the exam, which makes me concerned over my privacy.

What I'd like to know is if they can see what programs/applications/processes are running on my computer during the exam.

I'd like to note that I didn't download/install any program or application that is associated with my university. I'm only using their website through my Chrome browser.
