Vue.js and PHP good mix?

I have been learning Vue.js a lot and been wondering if I should learn node.js but I know php well so... Is php and vue.js a good combination?

I have never combined vue.js and php before hence I have no idea where to even start. For example should I be sending data from database to javascript variables with php so I can use that data in the front end? Do I have to use API server to deal with backend and front end? I have no idea where to start

Does anybody have any good relevant materials that can help me learn more about their combinations.
