What kind of cache can be suitable for my requirement in java EE application?

I have java ee web applicaton which is connected to database.I want to make a cache which will put the data from database when user hits first,and again when user hit the request then it needs to be retrieved from cache.The cache needs to update data with time,and cache also needs to be refreshed.I searched for the caches but I am not able to distinguish which is the right one for my requirement?I am not using any spring framework.
