what is the best practice to handle binding multiple drop downs in asp.net mvc client form that uses asp.net web api

We are building an application that uses asp.net web api. The consumer is asp.net mvc application. We have 3 to 4 drop downs having a list of values ranging from 50 to 200 values. What is the best practice to fill them? It is a large form that also has other controls apart from this drop downs.
