How to access database on my web server while working on local machine?

I have a personal website with flask. I made a database on the web server to store all of my data, but I'm not sure of the best way to access that database while I'm coding on my own machine.

I'm running this on a simple hosting website. I looked into using git as a sort of version control for the database but this did not seem like the right method.
