Get Google Document (Google Docs) text using PHP

I am aware that it is possible to get google sheets data using PHP and the google sheets API, but is it possible to get google documents (Google Docs) data using PHP and the google API?

I have looked online and couldn't seem to find how to do this, thanks in advanced.
