What can I do to make the json web api load faster?

First: I am not able to change the source web api.

I am trying to display the results but the server is very slow to return them the first time. It seems that after the server responds and gives the data, the next requests for the same personaId return data quickly.

Does anyone have an idea for getting around this issue?
