IIS Fail over conditionally

We have an application that is running on multiple servers and is configured for auto failover which is tested worldwide and working as expected. How it works is that the application is connected to IIS and the requests to the application are coming from a configured application pool (Web service). The issue is that the application successfully fails over to the partner server whereas the IIS is still taking requests from on the Primary server and thinks that the application is up and running on primary. Is there a way that we can failover the IIS to the Secondary as soon as the application fails over??
