providing an http address

hope you could help me please with a suggestion on the following :

-- i am using a HiC data visualization browser available at (http://ift.tt/2owCUCH); briefly speaking, HiC is a method that provides information about the chromosome configuration.

-- in order to be able to visualize my data, I need to place the files in a location that is accessible and has a http address, according to the instructions :

"Please specify the URL of the data (e.g. http://ift.tt/2opelLd). Ensure that the server supports HTTP and that the permissions are set appropriately. "

The question is : in which location shall i place the data (on my computer, or externally) in order to be able to provide a http address to the browser that displays the data ? 've just installed apache on my linux machine.
