Simple web based excel style IT asset management

I've been searching to find something to better manage our IT servers and their license/warranty information. Currently we use Excel which works but has the usual downside of maintainability, several copies of the file floating around, etc. Since this is maintained by our non-technical administrative staff, it needs to be a fairly simple interface, hence excel has been ok so far. Full blown CMDBs are overkill for us, our environment is ~ 100 servers, ~ 15 different kinds of storage arrays, ~ 100 networking equipment. I've looked at spiceworks, formtools and vfront but did not feel they are appropriate for our needs. Ideally, we need something that we can host and has a web interface to enter the information like hostname, IP, vendor contact, model, serial, rack location, warranty start/end dates, license info, purchase date, etc. If the information can be displayed in a tabular manner (like excel) it would be best. Technically I was hoping to find something php/mysql based that we could customize as needed, but no luck so far. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places or something? Thanks very much
