Website not appearing correctly on AWS EC2

I have created a free tier EC2 instance and am able to copy files onto the server using Filezilla. My website is a simple calendar application from fullcalendar.io with php included. It uses a mysql database to add events etc. (phpMyAdmin is used as a GUI) It has an index.php file but not an index.html file. So when I copy all the files to the web server folder and go onto the Public DNS link, all i see is PHP code and not the actually website. How can I fix this? Is it because there is no index.html file?

All I want to do is deploy the website on EC2 for demonstration purposes that won't be needed next week. Any help is appreciated!
