How to connect a c# desktop app to database online?

I want to connect a c# winforms app to an online service that receive the queries sent from the desktop app. Or do you know a web service that provide it?

I can do it using my local SQL Server instance, but only in my network. And I do not know how do that everywhere the desktop app runs, while having a active internet access. Thank You.
