How efficient is the end to end TDD

I am reading GOSS which is an awesome book on TDD. The book is well written and gives us a very good proof of concept regarding the efficiency of end to end TDD.

My main concern is how the current web development ecosystem supports this concept?

I need to see some practical examples. If its on AppEngine then it will be a bonus.
