fetching web traffic using python

I am trying to write a python script that can fetch the web traffic and save it in a file. I tried the requests lib and Beautiful soup, but, that didn't seem to work how I wanted. Any suggestions how I could achieve this?

I am trying to make a script to get the signature and auth token for a streaming video.
