Drag and drop img element to facebook chat after embedding img to facebook html

This is what happens: I load facebook, edit html to insert my own img tag with src, it shows up on the page, I drag n drop it to chat, it shows as if it's loading, but after a couple of seconds, it just disappears. I can't figure out why this happens. Any ideas?
