URL search param space issue [duplicate]

why URLSearchParams replace + with a space? is there any way to get the exact search param without any replacement? here's the example:

const searchParams = new URLSearchParams('subject=abc-vert1:sadfa+11-fgdfsjh5+1');
searchParams.get('subject');
//output: abc-vert1:sadfa 11-fgdfsjh5 1
