I've got a pellet smoker with bluetooth. It's great for monitoring the temp of the grill, pellet level, and temp of 2 internal probes when I'm not standing at the grill. It's not great for doing those things while I'm not standing at the grill. See, bluetooth is a really stupid idea for a device that sits outside of your house that requires monitoring. As soon as I walk into the house, I lose the connection.
I'd like to somehow use maybe a raspberry pi to collect the bluetooth data and convert that to a web based dashboard hosted on the pi for me to connect to anywhere in my home.
My questions are:
-
How might I go about connecting to the grill with the pi? There is an Android app that it usually uses to connect to the grill for data.
-
After connecting,is there some sort of library available to convert those calls and whatnot to something I can feed to a live site I build and hose on the pi?
Thanks so much for the brainstorming assistance!
