Why my keyboard is changing the screen orientation to landscape mode?

I am trying to build a website that works in portrait as well as landscape orientation. But since my website also has an Input filed, the following media queries is applied when the keyboard appears even in portrait mode:

@media screen and (orientation:landscape)

Is it possible to nullify the effect of the keyboard on my viewport dimensions or atlest on the screen orientation?
