What is the best gitHub deployment strategy for AWS rds database deployment to the cloud?

I created an rds deployment using this link https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/opensource/rds-code-change-deployment/

My team uses gitHub. I have an rds test server and rds production database. Each developer has its own branch in GitHub. After the code is reviewed, the developer pushes the code to its branch. Because the app is an Amplify app, I created an environment variable so the developer can switch between test and production for testing. This is my first database deployment to the cloud GitHub and I would like to know the best GitHub deployment strategy for this type of architecture.
