Learning how to write a script to automate Multiple web searches [closed]

I would like to write a script to assist / automate searching for a house to buy. I've never attempted something like this so not really sure where to start. Hopefully this forum can give me a kick in the right direction (or even some samples)!

Currently I'm doing the below manually and would like to automate the process:

Objectives

  1. search for properties on an established real-estate platform (including applying filters such as home size, suburb, etc).
  2. for properties that match this criteria, take each address and search on a government website which tells you whether the property is connected to scheme water (mains water). If 'yes' then continue:
  3. next, put each address into Google maps and calculate the time to drive to work at peak hour. If time is less than 'x', then display result.

I have some coding experience: VBA, MATLAB, limited Java and C++. Have wanted to get into app and web script for a while - this seems like a good little project to get started and also with a real application that I would use immediately. Willing to learn a new language (have heard python is useful) based in recommendations for this application.

Thanks in advance!
