How to create the following mern stack app?

I have a very basic knowledge of MERN. I wanted to create a website where I have inbuilt DM, where I can serach people applying filters, sell books, create posts, etc. I have searched about this but I am unable to get an idea how should I start and what should be my approach. Please help!
