Fetching data on server vs client? (specifically NextJS)

I've been using NextJS for a while, but I keep having this confusion.

Let's say we have a case of marketplace page.

• When do we need to fetch data on server (getServerSideProps) vs client?
• And follow up question, when do we need to pre-render a page (if you could elaborate, it would be really helpful)?
