Trying to upload a wesbite to hosgator

I have a folder of images, blog.php, comments.inc.php, dbh.inc.php, favicon.ico, index.php and styles.css file. I went to my Hostgator account and uploaded these files to public_html tab. But when I go to my domain name it still had the Hostgator logo and my website doesn't show up. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or I have to upload a different way since most of mine are PHP files. Any help will be greatly appreciated. If anyone has a video link on how to do this that will be good too. Thank you
