iOS Safari Lock Screen media player buttons disabled

I am trying to create a music web app using the audio tag. When locking the phone, the mini player appears with basic controls such as play/pause, volume, seek bar. The problem is, Next / Previous buttons are disabled. How could I get those buttons to work? Below is a screenshot of the issue:
