Thumbnail on social networks

I made my personal website (using HTML, CSS & JS) as a Github Page. When I put my website's link on social networks (like LinkedIn), a thumbnail is automatically created.

I'd like to know if it is possible to make some changes in the code to choose which picture will be taken for the thumbnail.
