Is there any alternate to eblogger and wordpress to create blogs?

I am looking forward to create a blog for publishing some write ups. I did not like wordpress and wix due to limited features. Godaddy is bit expensive too Please tell me if there is any alternative to these which can help me. Also if i create a template of my ideas, how do i publish and how an i get the webspace to store those contents?
