Create new project without cross browsers CSS

How do web designers solved cross-browser CSS problem specially for IE Browser?

For example, In chrome this statement readable

object-fit: cover;
background: unset;

But in IE doesn't work, Is there any solution to avoid rebuilding the css to make it perfect for all browsers?
