I am trying to build a web development environment server

As the title states, I need your help with setting up a dev environment server. My goals are:

• Be able to SSH in [done]

• Use VS code to remote in to update and remotely code.

  • I believe this is where FTP or SFTP(Prefered) would come in.

• Have node.js on server

  • Have node.js do its magic so that node server automatically updates code on save and I can view it on remote browser.

  • Node.js does all its magic with a JavaScript task runner

• For future stuff like learning react, express, etc.

• Apache

• PHP

• Wordpress theme development

• database

  • I was thinking MySQL because it is what I am familiar with because of LAMP stacks that I have used.

The Distro that I am using right now is Debian. I want to be able to set up a server at home so that I can code from my laptop remotely. I want to be able to make small static sites, Wordpress templates, and eventually, more dynamic projects using React.
