how to fix this extra area added by internet explorer

So i created a website which looks perfectly fine on chrome but when i checked it out on internet explorer, it showed the following image

As you can see, there is an extra black area added by the side of layout and this is really annoying. Nothing like this appears on chrome. Can you tell me what I should do to fix this? My codes seem rather confusing but if u want me to post them I will do that.. Just need this crap fixed
