Looking for something to automate my homework

I have a bit of experience in Java, but haven't ever done much with it online. I recently found a script to do my vocab for me. The script itself works fine, but i would love to learn how to write it myself. I have looked all over and can't find anything that explains how to write a script like this (like one that can complete tasks on a website, and answers questions) If anyone knows of a good tutorial please leave a link.
