Make page wait until other client sends a code

My question is what the best way to do this is:

Page 1 has an input box and submit button and we will send the code "123" Page 2 is listening to the actions of page 1

when page 1 has sent the code page 2 has to show the code in realtime (maybe using ajax?)

What is the best technique to realize this in code, thanks in advance
