Auto website image download

let me first say that im new to this community, and i hope you will understand some noobish questions.

I have one school project but also some ideas that i can implement after some basic program development.

I have basic knowelage about HTML/CSS/JS but im open to learning any program language if it will help me with this project.

In my first post i will be clear with advice i need.

Lets assume that i have website www.example.com and i need to create script that will check all links on that website and grab image and save to my PC.

First part of project would be with links i point program to, but in later development it would be random link check with predefined rules (routing).
