how to submit a php form without reloading the page?

I'm trying to make a small form in php for my school project, the trick is that i have to submit the students questions/answers but without having the page been reloaded. and if its possible even automaticlly showing the question posted under the form just like twitter. it's all in php, and I've heard that ajax does the work so ... THANKS
