How long does the service worker remains active on client browser after hosting stops?

We are migrating from a notification service, but the service worker is hosted and installed on the domain of the third party service provider. The subscription of the user have been successfully migrated and we are able to send notifications but what will happen when the provider stops hosting the service worker. In general case when the browser is unable to update the service worker it uses the current version of installed worker. But how long will this work.
