unable to create virtual directory. the url is already mapped to a different folder on iis site

I want to build a webapi in the existing domain (which is vb.net project).my url is localhost:88/myapp and i want to build a webapi like this localhost:88/myapp/API but cant.it says unable to create virtual directory. the url is already mapped to a different folder on iis site
