Javascript automation and data scraping (not sure if this exactly is data scraping)

I just started with my job in which one of the requirements is to find out on an internal search portal for any transactions that have been done today for 1000 mapped customers of ours and report that in an excel with the customer ID which did the transaction. I feel this can be automated using JS Including the login, searching for those 1000 customer ID one by one - analysing transactions which happened on the same day and then exporting the data after reading it from the web page - to one new text file. Help me out with this. Which tool should I use? And what can be done in this case This automation will make my life hell lot easy in this job!
