How can I detect an edge swipe (touch) with pure JS?

I am creating a webapp using MDC-Web and I decided to add a left edge swipe to open the drawer. The problem is that I can't find any good solution by searching on the internet using at the same time pure JS and edge swiping (not swiping anywhere on the screen, only from the edge). If you have any solution that uses pure JS and edge swipe, it would be greatly appreciated.
