Automate Download from website

I work at an educational institute and the admissions are online. I need to download receipts for each student putting in their application number which may be in a pdf or excel. Now this is very tedious task. I would like to know if there is any way i can automate this process meaning the computer will read application number from excel input it in the website field and save the receipt in desired folder with student name which can also be read from excel or the receipt itself.
